The Challenge
Chris needed an outdoor staircase to go from his pool downstairs to his gym and office upstairs. He wanted to be able to enjoy his outdoor spaces more without having to go all the way inside the house to move from his balcony to his patio. With a pool downstairs, the staircase needed to be safe for wet feet and very sturdy. Chris’s home is in Florida, so his new staircase also needed to be able to withstand significant rain, heat, and humidity without rusting or degrading while also being beautiful and complementary to the existing structure. He was worried that with all these requirements for his new stairs, the project would be expensive or even impossible.

The Staircase Design
Chris selected a gorgeous Aluminum Stair with a 5ft diameter. Because he has a pool downstairs, the steps of the staircase have holes to allow water to drain. This helps keep everyone safe, and it helps the staircase weather the elements better since water can’t pool on the steps and cause damage. The staircase is elegantly designed while still being sturdy and durable enough to last for years even with Florida’s sometimes extreme weather conditions.
