This home office loft staircase saved Jeff plenty of space
The Challenge
Jeff was remodeling his home in California, and he knew that he wanted a spiral staircase to go up to the new office loft he was creating. Jeff knew from the start that he would need a spiral staircase due to space constraints in his existing living room. He needed something compact and customizable that would not take up very much space and still be elegantly designed for the space. Since he was still in the process of building the office loft, finding a custom staircase that would match the look and feel of his as yet unfinished space was extremely important.
The Process
Jeff did some research online before contacting Paragon to find the best price and quality with a reasonable delivery estimate. He worked with Matt, one of Paragon’s knowledgeable sales representatives, who walked him through getting the measurements and photos needed to get started on his project. He was even able to see how the staircase would look in his space before purchasing with a 3-D rendering. With a staircase going to a small office loft, keeping the footprint small was critical. Jeff and Matt worked together to find the right spiral staircase for his newly remodeled home.
The Staircase Design
Jeff, with the help of one of Paragon’s designers and in-house engineering team, who are code certified and recognized by the Stairbuilders and Manufacturers Association, ended up selecting a beautiful Downtown Spiral Stair with a compact footprint. The small footprint of this elegant staircase was the most important feature to Jeff when he was looking over the different options. The materials are sturdy and built to last for years with minimal maintenance, and the design is compact yet stylish and elegant. Although this staircase design leans modern, it still encompassed many of the traditional elements Jeff liked. For example, he opted to add solid wood covers to each step. This added a more traditional look, combined with the black powder coat finish for an industrial look. This added finish not only helps Jeff’s staircase look great, but it helps to protect it too. The protective layer helps prevent metal corrosion and protects against wear and tear. This protective layer should help keep Jeff’s staircase looking great for many years of use.
The Results
After completion, Jeff felt the unique style of the Downtown staircase worked perfectly for the space. Jeff loved the way that this staircase design felt like a natural extension of his home’s current design. Jeff now has a beautiful new staircase leading up to the new office in his California home. He hired a contractor to complete the installation, but Paragon stairs can be installed by DIY enthusiasts without any general contracting experience.
